CamelBak – The Hands-Free Hydration Pioneer

CamelBak was founded in 1989 after EMT Michael Eidson invented a hands-free drinking system during a 100-mile bike race—an IV bag filled with water inside a sock, worn under his jersey with a drinking hose. That simple invention became the first hydration pack (the prototype “ThermalBak”) and sparked an entirely new product category.

Today, CamelBak is a leader in hydration systems, offering hydration packs, bottles, gloves, and tactical gear—designed and tested at its headquarters in Petaluma, California, with manufacturing in the USA, Mexico, and Asia.
